Happy New Year!

Oh my! Coming into 2015 was amazing… personally I did nothing special or monumental, spent valuable time with my friends, called my family because for me that’s what’s important and there is nothing better than coming into a new era with the people that matter the most to you, throw in some video games and good food you have the best new year ever. I watched on TV as Dubai celebrated it was the most impressive display of lights and fireworks I’d ever seen. Not even the 2012 Olympics were that grand, and that’s saying something because they were amazing!

Now it’s the first week into the year and you’ve probably said that phrase about a hundred times now, happy New Year, happy New Year, happy new year- I notice people say it but don’t really mean it.

There is an aura of pessimism in the air when talking about the new year to people, all everyone seems to talk about are the bad things that are happening in the world.

Working for the paperless company I’ve been exposed to a lot of depressing statistics, studies and research findings, global temperatures rising, while islands are said to start disappearing due to melting icecaps, species are going extinct and that’s just in the eco spectre, terrorism is racking the planet violently. ISIS, Boko Haram, killings are happening everywhere, North Korea and the United States are not in good terms, countries are billions of dollars in debt, in the economy many currencies are loosing their value now that the price of oil has reduced. Countries that depend on oil exports for their economy’s support are going into crisis, as they now have to find other ways to maintain their economy.

Were going to do something crazy- we’re going to focus on the good things that are happening in the world instead of these terrible things that people keep talking about.

This morning you woke up, you’re alive- that’s something to be grateful for.

Your family is well, your body works and if some of it doesn’t work you cant use than as an excuse to be miserable because there is a guy out there with no limbs and he’s killing it! Nick Vuyijic. Companies have started taking global crisis seriously in the past few years and many of them are going green. The world’s largest solar plant came online in 2014- though it has been operating since 2013.

Netherland built the very first solar powered roads in the world. So many things are happening that we should be happy and thankful about, more and more people are going paperless and we at SignTech are developing more paperless solutions everyday. Good things do happen and they are happening every single day. I’m not saying ignore the negative things but don’t downplay the good things either.

You have the whole day ahead of you to be happy, the whole year to be fulfilled so yes Happy New Year.
